On Monday the 16th of September, my mother had a very serious and near fatal fall.
On Wednesday the 18th of September, as her Guardian, I authorized emergency surgery and she went to the operating room though the anesthesia itself could end her life on the table. There was no choice the Dr told me. She had no time to say goodbye to anyone...she had to go to the operating room or that was it. I went to the chapel and prayed, made my decision, came back and told the surgeon to go ahead.
During this latest fall, she suffered a very serious head injury losing over half of her entire blood volume, she suffered a fractured spine, and two fractured arms with her right arm being broken with compound fractures. She had a cardiac event and on top of that, a blood clot.
My mom has been very ill over the last year and a half and slowly failing. During this time she has continued to become extremely frail. She only weighs 114 pounds.

My sweetheart and I took a vacation a few weeks ago and we spent some time in Florida and then got on a cruise to the Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise before and it was an incredible experience. In my previous marraige I could never do these things and I am blessed I am able to do them now with my family.

Hi everyone, It has been an eventful few months since I last posted here.
My honey and me took a wonderful trip up to New Jersey for Christmas and spent some time with family and friends. We then went to Times Square for New Years Eve. It was so cold in midtown Manhattan. We had a great time visiting relatives who haven't seen me in a while and who wanted to meet my honey. It was great to spend Christmas with them again as I used to do. All of my relatives are happy for me and my sweetie. They see how much she loves me and what a difference she has made in my life.
On one of our trips up to Butler, NJ to see my cousin, we enjoyed a nice dinner at the Pompton Queen Diner. I do indeed miss N.J. diners. My sweetheart had never eaten in a Jersey diner and for her it was a real treat. We then went to all the cemeteries and visited my dad and grandparents and other relatives. As for me, I have been training hard for the St Judes Marathon this year in December to be held in Memphis, Tennessee. All the money raised goes to help children with cancer. At the urging of several friends I took the plunge and decided I was able to make the run. I have been to Memphis twice to run on the course set out for the real thing and it is a wonderful experience. My sweetheart usually goes with me and then we drive down to Jackson, Mississippi and eat at Paula Deen's in the Casino there.
As for my running ability, I am at 5 miles a day now and getting stronger as the days go by. Not bad for a guy who used to be fat and hardly able to even walk some days. My sweetheart and I joined a fitness club and we are working with a superb personal fitness trainer. I have begun the power lifting regimen I had wanted to begin several months ago. I am in better shape now at 51 years of age then when I was 20. I am so blessed to finally have a woman in my life who supports what I do and who loves me unconditionally. I am just sorry it took me 50 years to find her. I hope to have another update here soon. Love to all, -Tim Sr.
